87 aniversario del cambio de categoría de Villa Juárez a Ciudad Mante

En esta fecha tan significativa históricamente para los mantenses, es importante reconocer a los integrantes de la cámara Nacional de Comercio e Industria de villa Juárez, que con una visión futurista ya incluían el aspecto industrial para la naciente villa Juárez hoy ciudad Mante. La cámara antes citada representada por los señores Eustolio Suárez, presidente, y Dr. Pedro Martínez Noriega, secretario, en una sesión ordinaria el día 1º de octubre de 1937 el Sr Reyes Hernández propone el cambio de nombre ya que en ese entonces había problemas con él envío de mercancías por ferrocarril a villa Juárez ya que existían varios lugares en el país con ese mismo nombre y se entregaban en lugares, también ocurría lo mismo con la correspondencia, así mediante oficio no. 379 de fecha 5 de octubre de 1937 el presidente y secretario de la cámara nacional de comercio e industria de villa Juárez, Tamaulipas solicitaron a la xxxv legislatura del congreso del estado de Tamaulipas, el cambio de categoría de villa Juárez a Cd. Mante además argumentando que en el censo oficial de 15 de mayo de 1930, aparece villa Juárez con una población total de 6,820 habitantes y según cálculos apreciativos hechos por la dirección general
del estado, en 1935 tenía 7,777 habitantes; su presupuesto de ingreso correspondiente al año de 1936 alcanzó la suma de $61,058 anuales, la colecturía de renta recaudó en el citado año de 1936, $ 86,891.77.
Por lo que solicitaron por este medio que se le adjudicara la categoría de ciudad Mante, en respuesta a la solicitud el congreso del estado representado por Tomas R. Morales y el Sr. Magdaleno Aguilar Castillo mediante oficio no. 1997 de fecha 8 de octubre de 1937 hacen saber al presidente y secretario de la Cámara Nacional De Comercio E Industria De Villa Juárez, Tamaulipas, que ha sido turnado su oficio del 5 de octubre del presente año. mediante oficio no 15880 de fecha 14 de octubre de 1937, el gobernador Ing. Marte Rodolfo a Gómez Segura, quien se dirige a los cc secretarios del H congreso del estado en los siguientes términos:
“correspondiendo a la solicitud que ha elevado la cámara nacional de comercio e industria de villa Juárez, Tamaulipas, le sea cambiado a esa villa el nombre de Juárez por el de Mante, así como sea elevada dicha villa a categoría de ciudad. considerando su crecimiento agrícola y comercial.”
Así el gobernador del estado de Tamaulipas del Ing. Marte Romualdo Gómez Segura firmó el decreto 116 en octubre de 1937 por el cual cambia la categoría de Villa Juárez a ciudad Mante, hecho histórico que enfiló al Mante a un crecimiento económico, político, social, agrícola y cultural que en la actualidad perdura.
