Los huastecos de origen mayense llegan a México procedentes del sur y se asientan en los Estados SLP, Queretaro, Puebla, Veracruz Y Tamaulipas.
La huasteca tamaulipeca se ubica del centro sur , de Llera a Tampico.
Los huastecos se dispersan en el territorio mantense,Joaquin Meade recorrió el municipio y registró los asentamiento huastecos como tantoy , la loma de choy donde se ubica el centro de ciudad Mante, palcuay ahora Quintero , tanchipa,, en el ejeido huastequillo se ubica en la primaria un cuecillo y sobre esta el asta bandera simbolizando la unión de dos culturas ,otros lugares fueron tanchipa y tanchilab actualmente registrado ante el INAH Instituto Nacional De Antropología e Historia como centro arqueológico Celaya – el Triunfo.
En el ejido Celaya municipio de el Mante tiene un museo donde se exhiben muestras de la cultura huasteca de este centro arqueológico, destacando de una deidad de la cultura huasteca, que tras ser analizada arqueológicamente se descubrió que se trataba de una escultura dedicada al señor de la muerte ajhactictamtzemlab. Una deidad que procuraban los huastecos dentro de su ritualidad religiosa. Sin duda es un hallazgo de gran valor arqueológico, se trata de un personaje humano con la cabeza descarnada cuya figura fue labrada en una piedra arenisca de 2.20 metros de largo por 55 cm. de ancho y 23 centímetros de espesor cuya temporalidad se ubica en el posclásico temprano, 900 a 1200. En el ejido Celaya existe un cuscillo de más 3 mtros de atura donde cada 21 de marzo se celebra el equinoccio de primavera.
Otra evidencia se econtro ES en el centro de ciudad mnate se llamó tantoy donde asentaron los huastecos , fue el hallazgo por parte de la familia Alanís de un rostro del sr de la Muerte en la construcción del edificio de dos pisos ubicado por la calle Guerrero y privada Moisés Suarez Barrón a un lado del marcado municpal de el Mante , esta pieza arqueológica se encuentra resguardado en El museo Adela Pina Galván donde exhiben coo evidencias piezas arqueológica de la cultura huasteca.
otro legado de la cultura huasteca y debido a su cosmovisión consideraban tres planos el cielo , la tierra y el inframundo que representado en el altar de muertos el cielo por el arco , la mesa es la tierra y las patas de la mesa representa el inframundo .
De acuerdo la cosmovisión del huastecos, el arco representa al cielo , la base de la madera la tierra y las patas representa el inframundo de donde viene los muertos ala tierra a convivir con los vivos(Imagen adjuntada).
